First I would like to say, I know a lot of you have asked me how to do this a while ago, and I understand your frustration. The only reason I did not release this soon was because I felt I needed at least one thing that was original. No I do not claim to be the first person who did this, and no you shouldn't either. I do claim to be the first person to product this excessively. PLEASE do not say you did it first or claim this idea as your own. I haven't claimed it as my own and you shouldn't either. Please also respect that fact that I DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE YOU THIS. No that is not being mean, that is just mean wanting something all my own for once on IMVU xD.

Anyways enjoy the tutorial. Don't forget to thank me a million times for it because I wasn't going to make this at all xD. Just kidding, but srsly I wasn't.

Step one: Pick two or more hairstyle's for this tutorial I will use three to show you how to get the best out of this ability.

Hair one: The Kira hair by StormDesign - This will be used as the bangs.
Hair two: The Athena hair by StormDesign - This will be used for the base.
Hair three: The YURINA by 69STEP - This will be used for the extensions.

Step two: Open previewer, the one downloaded from the site. NOT THE PRE RELEASE. When you sign onto it, if it does not say "Download the newest previewer: Yes/No". Then you have the wrong one. Just download it from IMVU. Make sure to click NO when this message comes up. The reason for this is that most of the work is going to be done in an old previewer, version 1.9. In order for the product files to download correctly where it can be edited in 1.9 you need the previewer downloaded from IMVU.

Step three-Part A: Take one of the Product IDs. Go back to the previewer, click File>Create a Derived Product and put the Product ID in the box that comes up. Do this for all three of the hairs to download the product files.

Hair one: 2497342
Hair two: 2400510
Hair three: 2389084

Step three-Part B: Make sure that each product is only for male or female. To make sure of this Click on the "Special" tab in the previewer. If you do not see the "Special" tab, click Edit>Advanced mode. In the special tab there should be a box in this box it should have the number 80, or the number 191. If it has both delete one. This can always be changed later, but for right now it can only be one or the other to work in 1.9. Once you have all the product files downloaded, and have checked that they are either male or female you can shut down this previewer, we wont be using it anymore for right now.

Step four: Download previewer 1.9 Here's a tip. Read this before installing previewer 1.9. Take the other previewer and put the icon in you quick launch bar. (If you don't have one this won't work too well. You'll have to search through your program files in the future for the other previewer.) Then install 1.9 this will replace the previewer on the desktop but not the one in your quick launch, allowing you to use both of them.

Step five: Open 1.9 and log in. With this previewer you NEED to have advanced mode on, so once again click Edit>Advanced mode.

Step six-Part A: Take the base hairstyle first (The Athena Hair) and click File>Create a Derived Product and put in the Athena Product ID.

Step six-Part B: Place your textures onto the hair, but get rid of Material 2 and 3, by placing an all black image that is 256x256. This will remove the bangs, and the longest part. We don't need those for this hairstyle. Then save the product with whatever name you want. We are done with this part.

Step seven-Part A: Take the bangs hairstyle second (The Kira Hair) and click File>Create a Derived Product and put in the Kira Product ID.

Step seven-Part B: Place your textures onto the hair. Use the same method you used for 6:B and remove Material 3,4, and 5 till only the bangs are left

Step seven-Part C: Here is where things may not be familiar to you. Click on the "Edit Other" tab There will be a list of numbers there, will a check next to one. Un-check 1, and put the check next to 10. THIS ALONE WILL NOT MAKE YOUR HAIR AN ACCESSORY, so don't stop reading. Also you wont be able to wear other accessories that have the same number as 10, but there is nothing to do about this.

Step seven-part D: Click on the "Edit Geometry" tab There is a drop down menu there that says "Mesh Index" Change that number to 10 as well. Save it. Now, if you want, this part is not necessary, skip it if you don't care. You can check to see what it will look like with your other part. Click File>Load other product find what you named your first hair and open it. Click Edit>Apply Changes or Ctrl+A on your keyboard and your other part will be there.

Step eight-Part A: Lastly take the extensions (The Yurina Hair) and click File>Create a Derived Product and put in the Yurina Product ID.

Step eight-Part B: Place your textures again. Then using the method from 6:B remove Material 0, and 3 Removing the bangs since we do not need them.

Step eight-Part C: Click on the "Edit Other" tab There will be a list of numbers there, will a check next to one. Un-check 1, and put the check next to 11. NOT 10 THIS TIME. That is why I didn't just say repeat step 7:C. If you make it 10 you will not be able to wear the bangs with it.

Step Eight-part D: Click on the "Edit Geometry" tab There is a drop down menu there that says "Mesh Index" Change that number to 11 as well. ONCE AGAIN NOT 10! Save it. Now you can put all three together to see what it looks like!. Click File>Load other product find what you named your first hair and open it. Do this again to find what you named the bangs, and open that too. Click Edit>Apply Changes or Ctrl+A on your keyboard and your other part will be there. Ta-da you have your newly made hair.

Now you HAVE to use the other previewer to submit the parts, you can submit with 1.9.

Also some of you may ask me when going through this "What happens if my previewer looks like this during 6:A?
Did you remember to make them for either male or female? If you did there is another thing that causes this. Some products have actions. 69STEP has the "Flex" action on his hair's and this causes issues with previewer 1.9. NO WORRIES! I have the solution. Click on the Edit Actions Tab and delete the action. This will make you be able to work with it in 1.9. The action will return when you save it though.
